Jan Martinussen

Jan Martinussen is an expert in systems biology, molecular biology, genetics and microbial physiology, with emphasis on the industrial important Gram-positive organisms like lactic acid bacteria and Bacillus subtilis. Speciel expertise is found in the area of the genetics and physiology of nucleotide metabolism.

 

Jan Martinussen is a mster student in 1988 in Molecular Cell Biology from University of Odense (Now University of Southern Denmark ) and in 1992 from the same place. After an employment as a Postdoc at Center for Lactic Acid Bacteria at DTU from 1992, he was appointed as associate professor at DTU i 1995.

 

Jan Martinussen is responsible for courses in Molecular Microbiology, Bacterial Cell Biology and a project course in Biotechnological engineering. He has been the supervisor for a number of bachelor-, master- and PhD projects. He is a former member of the study boards in Biotechnology and Food sciences, and has been the cooridinator of the education in biotechnology.  He is the author or co-author of more than 40 scientific papers and has collaboration with a number of scientific groups.
